About the Singapore Grand Prix Circuit
Marina Bay Street Circuit Details: 2026 F1 Season
In 2008, the event had the honor of hosting the first night-time event in Formula One history. This iconic race has become a staple of the calendar and a favorite among fans and drivers. Taking place in the heart of the city with skyscrapers watching and thousands of floodlights replacing the sun, the track and cars sparkle, offering a visual spectacle rarely matched in F1. The circuit has a capacity for over 90,000 spectators.
Marina Bay F1 Track: 2026 Season Characteristics
It's far more than just good-looking. Tight and twisty from start to finish, the 4.940-kilometre (3.070-mile) street circuit allows almost no margin for error, with even the smallest mistake proving costly. The circuit currently features 19 turns. Various changes have been made over the years to find the perfect layout. Most notably, for the 2023 season, the Turns 16-19 complex was removed and replaced with a new 400-meter straight, reducing the lap length and increasing the number of laps from 61 to 62 (for 2024, the pit lane speed limit was also reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h). These modifications have aimed to provide more entertaining action than many other street circuits.
